Sunshine Pros and Cons

In the 1980s and 90s people become really concerned over the skin cancer. It resulted from all the cheap package holidays to Mediterranean destinations that were so popular in the 1970s.
The sun’s energy travels to the Earth via ultraviolet radiation. It comes in three types: UVA, the longest rays, which penetrate deeper into your skin; UVB, the shorter rays that cause sunburns and UVC, the most dangerous rays that are fortunately completely absorbed by the Earth’s upper atmosphere.
The sun is responsible for the skin cancer. Yet the recent studies have found that sunlight may reduce risks of some forms of cancer, such as stomach, breast and prostate.
The sun is our main source of vitamin D which strengthens our bones and muscles, and enhances the immune system. But we only need ten minutes to get the necessary Vitamin D benefits from sunlight, which we receive even if we are wearing SPF. Salmon is also a source of vitamin D.
Sunlight also stimulates the pineal gland, also known as "the third eye". The pineal gland produces certain types of chemicals called "tryptamines", including melatonin that keeps our body clock aware of night and day and the changing seasons.
Sunbeds are even more dangerous than the sun because they produce mainly UVA radiation which penetrates deeper into your skin and damages the skin cells and DNA. It’s estimated that 20 minutes in a sunbed can be equivalent to approximately four hours in the sun.

sunshine
It's quite amazing to me that skin cancer from the sun has only been prevelent for the past 30 years or so. It's also amazing that there are millions of dollars being made by motivation of fear to the general public of getting skin cancer from the sun. If you research history and go back many centuries. I beleive you will find that people living in say Africa. They spent most all there lives with very little clothing exposed to the Sun. Go to Asia, South America and many othere. Skin Cancer was and has not ever been a problem. It wasn't until a product was to be formulated to make millions of $$$$$. We know it as SPF . It was at that time that fear began being pushed at the American population from every advertising marketing scheem available to stay out of the sun without your Sun Block. Oh my, It was even approved by the FDA. (BIG DEAL) Do your research and see how Skin Cancer began to excell at an astronomical rate. But I guess rubbing toxic chemicals on your skin, then going out and baking yourself with a sense of confidence that you will not get burnt. I guess some people will believe anything that comes down the pike. What ever happen to being practicle and using common sense. Jumping into a fire, you will get burnt. Staying in the Sun too long at one time isn't smart either if it's your first time in the Sun. "DA" People with bad judgement usually pay a price for there action........... Sorry but I just can't and won't believe Sun Causes Skin Cancer.
hmmm
I don't think sunshine is something to be taken lightly. Recent studies have proven that UV rays are responsible for wrinkles and skin damage, so my advice would be to stay away from it, if you care about your skin. I have written a post about it on my blog, check it out for further info! (www.lifestyle-weblog.com)
